ELIGIBILITY

Fulton St. Fellowship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility criteria:

• At least 21 years of age (verified by educational parters)

• At least a high school graduate or a high school equivalency diploma (verified by educational parters)

• Residents of the New York Tri-State area and can attend classes in New York City

• Self-identify as Black

• Pursuing or plan to pursue enrollment in the Intensive Sommelier Training program at the Institute of Culinary Education New York City Campus

APPLICATION PROCESS

1. Applicants must complete the application no later than 10/31/21.

2. The most qualified applicants will be invited to participate in a virtual interview with an FSF advisor.

3. Fellowship recipients will be notified by 11/30/21.

4. Fellows must show proof of enrollment or intent to apply to the Intensive Sommelier Training at the Institute of Culinary Education (for which tuition is covered for Fellows) within 6 months of award, demonstrate satisfactory academic progress throughout and graduate from the program.

AWARD CRITERIA

Fellowships will be awarded based on the applicants who are best prepared to succeed as a beverage professional, based on their character, academic potential and demonstrated interest in wine and spirits.

AWARD DETAILS

Up to four Fellowships will be awarded in 2021. Recipients will receive:

• Full tuition scholarship (up to $10,000) for the Intensive Sommelier Training Program at the Institute of Culinary Education New York City campus. This  program is based on fifty, four hour classes, held on a morning or evening schedule.

• One trip to a European wine producing region (TBD)

• Invitations to local wine industry events

• Access to a living rolodex of wine industry professionals for mentorship and career support
