What can I expect as an FSF fellow?
Full Wine Program Tuition
FSF will pay your tuition (up to $10K) to a top-tier New York State-accredited wine education institution. Our first class of Fellows will be attending NYC's ICE intensive Sommelier Training program.
Academic Support
FSF provides supplemental wine education for new and emerging categories not typically covered in institutional programs.
A Living Wine Rolodex
We assembled a network of retail experts, hospitality and restaurant professionals, plus leaders in import and distribution, production, marketing, branding and PR who are ready to provide you with the guidance and support you need to succeed.
Industry Mentorship
You’ll be matched with a dedicated mentor in the wine industry based on their interests. Mentors are accessible to you and will check in with you throughout the fellowship.
Wine Travel
Special opportunities, including visits to wine regions, are offered by multiple FSF partners. 2021 fellows may travel to wine producing regions in Germany or Italy, and to a regenerative farm in upstate NY.
Invitations to Industry Events
Further your education and expand your network at portfolio tastings, seminars, classes and social gatherings hosted by our industry partners in New York City.
What does the FSF expect from Fellows?
Meeting Academic Standards
Fellows must complete the Institute of Culinary Education’s Intensive Sommelier Training program with satisfactory academic progress (failure to complete the program will necessitate Fellows to return scholarship funds to FSF).
Program Participation
We expect fellows to take advantage of the many learning opportunities and networking events provided to them.
Project Completion
Fellows will choose a wine-based project to complete during the course of the fellowship.
